Everybody Loves Stonephace

…and they’ve got a lovely new website…

You’ve probably noticed that the release of the heavily anticipated self-titled album by Stonephace has been delayed by a couple of weeks until 5th May due to factors beyond our control – not least the fact that more people wanted to order it than could physically be supplied. But do not despair – to keep you going until you get your hands on it via the Etch Shop next Monday, there are clips of the whole album on the brand new Stonephace website, so head along to www.stonephace.com now to check out their weird and absolutely wonderful brand of heavy, psychedelic, progressive, jazzy hip hop.
And here’s a rundown of some of the phenomenal reviews this excellent album has been picking up so far:

“Startlingly good” – The Independent On Sunday

“Stonephace look likely to blow up … It is a trip” – guardian.co.uk

“Idealised, stylised but never sanitised…The three noisemakers combine supremely in an upward, melded spiral of heated sax, beats and ectoplasmic guitar” – The Wire

“Stonephace transcends the limitations of a genre” – Wax Poetics

“There’s eleven tracks of this stuff and each one’s a treasure. Play it loud” – Jazzwise

“A great, great record and a nice surprise form Tru Thoughts…Larry Stabbins is one of the real greats of British music.” Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio1)

“Easily the best contemporary album I’ve heard this year! FANTASTIC” – Sushil Dade -The Jazz House, BBC Radio Scotland

And quite right they are too. This album is going to be a huge hit.
