Introducing Impossible Ark Records

…and a brand new Nostalgia 77 project – live this Saturday…

We’re extremely proud to announce that we have done a deal with Impossible Ark records to release their music through our sister label, the lovely Unfold. Impossible Ark is run by Ben Lamdin (Nostalgia77) and his close collaborator Riaan Vosloo. They already have a well repsected catalogue of releases but this new deal should mean you are hearing a lot more from them in 2009 and beyond.

The first release through this new channel will be the album ‘Strange Faith And Practice’ by the enigmatic alt-country and blue-eyed soul singer (not to mention artist and writer) Jeb Loy Nichols. You can catch Jeb Loy Nichols exhibiting his art and playing live at the Vortex, London on 16th June. This show will be the launch party for the whole project and will be a brilliant introduction.

In the meantime, check out Nostalgia 77 presents The Skeleton in Dalston, London, on 23rd May. This gig will see Nostalgia 77 lifting the lid on a totally new afro funk project. Also playing at the night are the Sofrito DJs and many others, so you’ll be guaranteed a good few hours of the hottest tropical beats. For more info on this one see the gig listing here, and hurry – only a few days to go, and tickets are selling like hot cakes.

Other releases in the pipeline over the next few months include an Impossible Ark compilation and the debut album from the aforementioned Skeleton project, so watch this space or head to www.impossiblearkrecords.co.uk for more information on the label.
