Quantic and his Combo Barbaro on tour

Fri 31 Jul '09

In the UK and Europe from 28th August – 13th September

Following the release of their superb ‘Tradition In Transition’ album, Quantic and his Combo Bárbaro – the new band assembled in Colombia by intrepid musical explorer Will Holland – will be touring the UK and Europe from 28th August – 13th September (full dates below), including a huge show at London’s Roundhouse on 4th September. If you can’t wait that long though, fear not – they’ll be over here in the meantime for a Saturday headline slot at the Big Chill on 8th August (their first ever full live show!!) and a set at Brecon Jazz the next day.

‘Tradition In Transition’ has been incredibly well received elsewhere too, from broadsheets to hipster mags, with fantastic reviews continuing to pour in.

MOJO – “This musical travelogue is a masterpiece of its kind” (4 STARS)
Q – “brilliant Motown-goes-Latin soul…sweet brassy South American easy listening…sunshine music with an enthused intelligence”
Independent On Sunday – “Sound of the summer” (4/5)
Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio 1) – “Lush … A Brilliant LP … Quantic’s at the forefront of a new global sound”
