An alluring sliver of alternative pop, this single highlights the mix of analogue and digital, of modern and timeless, at the heart of the Lost Midas sound. As sonically arresting as it is thematically thought-provoking, “Off The Course” was inspired by concepts absorbed from the book A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, which Jason Trikakis – the drummer-turned-producer behind the Lost Midas moniker - was reading at the time of making it. The vocal, heavily manipulated yet still deeply emotive and affecting, is woven into an inventive canvas of beats; an audacious bassline emphasises the urgency of the lyrical message, in defiance of the loping BPM.

The digital single package includes a new remix from fellow LA talent Captain Supernova“Off The Course (Captain Supernova Chariot Mix)”, brings a pitch-shifted, retro space-age delicacy befitting of this mysterious self-styled ‘Astronaut and Multi–Instrumentalist’ who – legend has it – was the “mission commander on a top secret US government mission in 1979 to interact with extraterrestrial life using synthesizers in outer space”
