Tru Thoughts discontinue night at Audio in Brighton
We have decided to leave Audio after a year.
We have felt that we needed to concentrate on the label, and the monthly night was restricting the development of some of the label acts who needed to do different styles of performance e.g Nostalgia 77 Octet, Alice Russell and QSO all being better housed in the Concorde or Komedia. Plus the label has been growing internationally at a fast pace and the label felt that holding back acts to play a weekend set in Brighton was stopping them taking higher profile gigs around the world e.g The Bamboos were offered a gig in Belgium with Gilles Peterson and Koop but were booked for this smaller Brighton gig. We have booked Alice Russell and Belleruche to play at the Concorde 2, Brighton on March 31st and still book Mr Scruff at the Concorde. We will keep you posted of new events.
