Alice Russell’s first album is a bewitching collection of her finest recordings to date.
Born into a musical family, Alice joined a choir at an early age. This classical background was enriched by her love of 1970s soul music and her passion for songwriting and performing.
The raw beauty of her voice has inspired some of the world’s most forward-thinking producers, songwriters and remixers, many of whom appear on this album.
Warp Records veterans Plaid, labelmate TM Juke, Bah Samba, Kushti and Nature Boy all have a part to play; while AtJazz and Digitek turn in some top notch remixes of Alice’s collaborations with Will ‘Quantic’ Holland and his formidable Soul Orchestra.
