This was Tru Thoughts’ first ever 7” vinyl release; and it’s come to be revered as a mighty fine one indeed.
‘Silver’ was released at a time when everyone was going CD and internet crazy, so releasing non-funk music on a 45 was quite unusual.
Desirable not only because of its lush musical content, but also because of its rarity (only 750 copies were ever made commercially available), it features two tracks from Bonobo’s ‘Animal Magic’ album – a release that was greeted with critical clamour on its release and still spoken of in hushed terms even now.
