Bump & Pots EP
Debut EP from Deeds Plus Thoughts, chock-full of top remixes.
This four track EP features the remix of ‘Rhythmic Haze’ that first appeared on the initial installment of ‘When Shapes Join Together’.
In 2000 the track was described by Andy Smith from Portishead as ‘the best UK beats/hip hop album I have ever heard’. Praise indeed.
‘Rhythmic Haze’ has been remixed by Humble Munk, who adds some Brazilian-influenced guitar and percussion to create a jazzy breakbeat tune which can get the uptempo dancefloors shaking to this day.
‘Dayton Bumps’ has a funky reggae sound with beats and horns, which was made after hearing Mr Scruff and 100% Dynamite play a four-hour reggae and dub set at former Tru Thoughts club night phonic:hoop.
‘You’ve Been Missing’ has been remixed by Mex from Black Grass, who adds a totally new backing track with fat beats, low bass and scratches; all of which highlight Mex’s old school hip hop roots, while ‘Love Pots’ is one of those irresistibly cheeky Deeds Plus Thoughts skits.
