Jung Collective is the work of one Alan Gubby, who went on to start Nanny Tango records.
The title track on his first and only 12” for Tru Thoughts is an extremely funky, jazz-influenced slab of dancefloor mayhem. The test pressing was first played at Mr Scruff’s eclectic ‘Keep it Unreal’ night in Manchester to an ecstatic crowd response.
‘So You Said’ is a quirky bass and drum-led tune with a strong middle eastern influence and vocals apearing in the chorus.
‘The Special Stuff’ features more hip-hop styles, with sounds seemingly beamed in from outer space and an irresistibly catchy bassline.
