This 7” single was the first release on Tru Thoughts by the Nostalgia 77 Octet.
Originally intended as a live incarnation of Benedic Lamdin’s solo project, the Octet have since developed into a band in their own right – writing, recording and performing original material together.
Even on this debut release, proof of their accomplished musicianship and songwriting talent is irrefutable.
This two-part version of ‘Freedom’ is a remix of the live recording that first appeared on the ‘Sevens & Eights’ CD album. The remix takes the original track into jazz-dance territory via outer space.
DJs will want to track down two copies of this particular release in order to get the full effect. It’s all about spinning parts 1 AND 2 back-to-back for pure dancefloor-destroying action!
