An exclusive Bonobo remix of this Nostalgia 77 gem.

‘Quiet Dawn’ is the second sensational single from Ben Lamdin aka Nostalgia 77’ ’s highly acclaimed song-based album, “Everything Under The Sun”, with featured vocals from Beth Rowley.
A trio of treats, this 12” boasts, as the lead track, an exclusive remix of ‘Quiet Dawn’ by Bonobo (Ninja Tune and ex-Tru Thoughts), clocking in at an epic and rewarding 7 minutes, and guiding the ear in a distinctly deep direction but with an eye on the dancefloor, calling to mind sun-drenched vibes somewhere between Roisin Murphy & Bjork.
The second track on the single is the playful Povo reworking of the evocative ‘Wildflower”, from the same album, featuring rich velvety vocals from Lizzy Parks, channelling the classic ‘50s chanteuses. “Wildflower” was singled out by Gilles Peterson as a favourite cut from the LP.
On the album version of ‘Quiet Dawn’ seen here as the AA2 track, the vocal from Beth Rowley is languorous yet pure, sultry yet inviting, bringing every nuance out of Lamdin’s beguiling lyrics. It is complimented by purely liquid keys and tenor sax and the finest mist of percussion, capturing a hazy, ethereal atmosphere – this single is a slice through the various incarnations of Jazz which Lamdin explores over the course of his masterpiece of an album.
