Pushin On 7"
This highly sought-after 7” cemented the QSO’s reputation as undisputed heavyweights of the UK funk-soul scene.
‘Pushin On’ was penned by Will Holland after the success of the Quantic Soul Orchestra’s debut album, ‘Stampede’.
Featuring Alice Russell on vocals, the track is built around a funky guitar lick and Mister Holland’s trademark heavy drums.
Each part of the record was recorded in one take to capture the spontanaeity and fluidity of the live QSO experience.
Here’s what the great and the good had to say at the time of release:
“Absolutely brilliant! This is the best funk record to be released in the last 20 years”
“Another rumbustious offering from Will Holland’s well oiled live outfit. QSO are that rarest of things – a UK funk act worth their salt”
“Be warned, this 45 is the best new funk recording in a long time. You owe it to yourself to check it!”
“Crunchy vintage sounding beats and a chicken spittin’ scratchy guitar, all topped off by the supreme Alice Russell delivering heartfelt truth. 7 inches of pure fun!”
