One Offs...Remixes And B-Sides
In the space of just four years, Will Holland had already sunstantial catalogue of remixes and rareties – these are just a few of them.
‘One Offs’ squeezes 27 rare Quantic cuts, many of which were previously only available on vinyl, onto two CDs.
At the time of release, four of the tracks on this album were exclusives, including the Mr Scruff collaboraton, ‘Giraffe Walk’.
Here’s what Will Holland had to say about the album:
“It wasn’t until I sat down with Robert Luis at the Tru Thoughts offices to compile this record that I realised the sheer volume of music I have remixed over the years.
I first started remixing other people’s tracks as a way to devise, define and advertise my own sound. Before long I was remixing on a weekly basis, often working on several tracks at the same time.
Sometimes the process is blindingly obvious – you’ll find an idea straight away and bounce through the track till the end. Sometimes it’s a hard slog, involving much head and beard scratching throughout.
Fortunately I have been blessed with the work of some brilliant and original artists, who very often allow me to work from their original master!
In addtion, there are also some excellent remixes of my own material by world renowned producers, plus some original tracks that have somehow slipped through the net over the years.
This album is by no means definitive, but I hope it is entertaining”
