The Broken Keys - Razorblade
Ben Lamdin from Nostalgia 77 and Nathaniel from Natural Self have created a unique track that differs from their previous work.
Razorblade has a more aggressive approach, a groove driven jazz/rock track fuelled from raw-grittiness (a sound that has been described as ‘an angry preacher promoting a scorched earth policy’).
The track builds rolling snare drums and wah induced guitar licks on a thick, crunchy bass line expressed with a lavish 70’s funk eloquence and your pretty much there!
This leads onto the more subtle, gentile, soulful lament, which is ‘Redlight’. Beautiful, melodic and once again showing off the musical range/talent contained within The Broken Keys not just musically and vocally but also through their tight, vintage hip hop production techniques.
