Picking up where the third and final ‘When Shapes Join Together’ album left off, this eclectic compilation finds Tru Thoughts’ veterans rubbing shoulders with the best newcomers of 2003.

As well as a whopping 22-track double CD release, ‘Shapes One’ was also pressed onto vinyl, allowing DJs to get their mitts on some of the more club-friendly cuts.

Spread across two discs (Horizontal and Vertical), the CD version of the album spans a wide variety of styles including broken beat, funk, jazz, hip hop, downtempo, bossa and breaks.

Horizontal focuses on laid-back, mellow moods – while Vertical favours predominantly uptempo grooves. The 11 tracks featured on Vertical also appear on the vinyl version of ‘Shapes One’.
