Space Captain drop new single 'Blue'

Published: Wed 4th Oct, 2017

A deeply personal, melodic exploration by singer and songwriter Maralisa Simmons-Cook

“Blue” is the latest release from Space Captain, ahead of their eagerly awaited first full album ‘All Flowers In Time’ (set for release in late October). With thoughtful arrangements of fluttering guitars, trumpet breakdowns and cyclical layers of background vocals, this beautifully crafted release takes Space Captain to new heights. “Blue” follows impressive support for their early single and EP releases, across BBC 6Music, Radio X, The Wire, Okayplayer, Line Of Best Fit, Revive Music and Clash, to name a few.

“Blue” is a deeply personal, melodic exploration by singer and songwriter Maralisa Simmons-Cook, who expresses immense emotional intelligence through the honesty and vulnerability of her song writing. It enchants throughout the album and is particularly highlighted in the way this track of reflection and understanding intertwines; ““Blue” is an indirect response to “Side Eye”” Maralisa muses, “Both “Blue” and “Flood” are about internal conflicts, but while “Blue” is mainly about anxiety, “Flood” is a remedy for it”.
